Director
For more than fifteen years, Dr. Patrick Jacobs served as the Director of Opera at the University of Mobile, where he stage directed more than twenty-five productions. Recent highlights include directing Verdi’s La Traviata with Mobile Opera, a co-production of Mozart’s The Impressario and Salieri’s Prima la musica e poi le parole with the University of Mobile and First Coast Opera (St. Augustine, FL) and Puccini’s Suor Angelica with University of Mobile. In addition to directing operas, he is also comfortable staging musical theatre productions. Recent musicals staged include Sweeney Todd, Ragtime, and Hello, Dolly! with the Joe Jefferson Players (Mobile, AL) as well as The Drowsy Chaperone at the University of Mobile.
Dr. Jacobs also directed scenes programs for the International Performing Arts Institute in Kiefersfelden, Germany and LOOK Musical Theatre in Tulsa OK.
Engagements for 2022-2023 include directing Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors at Christ Church Cathedral in Mobile, AL in December of 2022.
